What motivated you to run for County Board Supervisor?
I wanted to get involved and try to make a difference for all citizens of Richland County, not just a few.
What are your main goals or priorities for Richland County?
- Get EMS services under control and allow the municipalities to take over this service, rather than the County.
- Our facilities are in poor condition, some more than others. We may need to borrow funds to upgrade these buildings and make them safer. Our courthouse has been neglected for far too long. We also need a government center to better centralize services for our citizens—a “one-stop shop.” The challenge is funding.
- Campus—there is a lot to consider. It is a space already owned by the County, and I hope we can use it for a government center. We could also build a jail and Sheriff’s Department on another piece of land away from the schools, such as North Park.
- I will do my best to make the wishes of the citizens I represent known to the County Board.
